The Palo Alto Vikings fall to the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs 41-7 in their second home game of the season.
There was a change at quarterback when Jackson Chyrst (’19) started over the injured Jordan Schilling (’17).
Chyrst (’19) looked good, throwing one touchdown pass to go along with one interception, but a fumble early in the game set the Vikings back from the start
At the end of one quarter, the Monarchs had a 7-0 lead. The defense for Palo Alto couldn’t seem to catch up in the second quarter giving up three more touchdowns to end the first half down 28-0.
The second half didn’t go the way the Vikings wanted it either. The defense couldn’t get off the field and allowed the Monarchs to drive for almost eight minutes to extend their lead to 34-0 after as missed point after.
It wasn’t until the beginning of the fourth quarter where the vikings finally got on the board with a touchdown from quarterback Chryst (’19) to tight end Jamie Cullen (’17).
Cullen (’17) looked good on both sides of the ball with a touchdown on the offensive end and an interception on the defensive end.
Overall the Vikings didn’t look good out there on either side of the ball. Turnovers plagued the team and they were unable to recover offensively or defensively.

The Vikings look to bounce back next Friday, September 16 at Oak Grove at 7:00.
