After a rocky start to the season, the girls volleyball team has seemed to hit its stride after two straight 3-0 wins against league opponents. The most recent one coming against the Los Altos Eagles.

“So far I think the season has been going really well. We’ve played some really difficult teams in the preseason. Even though we lost they really helped us get ready for future games. It shows that we have a lot of potential for the rest of the season.” Fiona Green (‘17) said.

The first set was back and forth. Multiple performances contributed to the Vikings winning the first set. The set was capped off with a kill from Sienna Brewster ’19 giving the Vikings the set with a score of 25-22. The second set was more of the same. Cassandra Fong (’17) and Chelsea Fan (’18) both stood out with multiple kills. The Vikings won the set 25-23 capped off by a kill from Fan. Head Coach Jekara Wilson was very happy about the team’s overall performance.

“I thought we a really consistent energy throughout the match. We actually haven’t beaten Los Altos in a few years so it’s a huge win for us. I thought all the girls played extremely well.” Wilson said.

The Vikings continued their dominance in the third set. Fong was able to get three aces. Paly won the set 25-23 and sweep every set. This continues Paly’s unbeaten run through league. Chelsea Fan in particular was a stand out performer with 12 kills. However there is still more that the team can improve on.

“I think we can work on becoming more consistent a team and working together”, Green said.

The team looks to continue their winning form on Tuesday at Homestead at 6:45 p.m.
