The Lady Vikes in a nice effort, put down the Titans Tuesday night.

The Titans opened up the scoring almost immediately, but the Vikes refused to go away. Right after the Titans scored, the Vikes settled down and controlled the tempo of play for almost the entire rest of the half.

The Vikes, led by Charlotte Cheng (‘18), made a terrific comeback to lead the Titans 5-4 going into the half. Cheng ended the game with four terrific goals which led the team.

Emma Staiger (‘18) also played a terrific game with multiple assists and a goal of her own. Staiger before the game was very excited of the much anticipated matchup.

“The Gunn game is always really intense with a ton of hype surrounding the rivalry,” Staiger said.

The Lady Vikes continued their march and left their mark on the game in the second half. The Vikings led the Titans by seven goals at one point and never looked back.

The Titans attempted to come back in the last minutes with a goal of their own, but another Cheng goal put the game away for the rolling Vikings.

“This win was really earned by our team’s hard work, because Gunn is really a great team,” Staiger said, “I think we played very well together, which is why we won.”
