Swimming teams anticipate meet against Monta Vista tonight

The Palo Alto High School varsity swim teams look to maintain their perfect league records tonight in their meet against Monta Vista at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino.  The boys are especially anticipating the matchup tonight, as the Matadors stole from the Vikings their sixth consecutive Santa Clara Valley Athletic League title last year at the league swim meet.   Both the boys’ and the girls’ teams will look for a full team effort to score points as vital team members Jasmine Tosky (’12), Sarah Liang (’11) and Byron Sanborn (’12) are at a club swim meet in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

“Monta Vista, along with Los Gatos, are our main competition in league,” long distance swimmer Ken Wattana (’11) said. We already beat Gatos so now we just got to beat Monta Vista and get us closer to our goal of getting the league title back to Palo Alto.  We won’t have some of our club swimmers so everyone will have to really step up on both the girls’ and the boys’ sides.”
