The Paly boys’ swim team (7-1 in league) defeated Saratoga 105-78 in their final dual meet of the season.

Key wins from underclassmen Andrew Liang (’14) in the 50 and 100 freestyles with times of 22.23 and 49.15 respectively and William Lee (’14) in 100 backstroke with a time of 45.73 helped clinch the win for the Vikings.  The new talent of the freshmen class has helped the team throughout the season and will help the team as they go into end of season championship meets.

“As a team, I am feeling quite confident as we have many more CCS swimmers than last year,” Byron Sanborn (’12) said. “We have been swimming fast and now that taper is starting we should do well. We have strong freshmen that came in and can really step it up”

Sandborn helped score points for the Vikings’ with his win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.22.

The team feels confident going into CCS and leagues with a 7-1 league record.

The Vikings strong relays helped them to win the meet, and will help them to score points at CCS and leagues.  The 200 freestyle team of Liang, Youngkuk Lee (’12), Dj Fotsch (’11) and William Lee took first with a time of 1:31.75 and the 400 freestyle team of Rollin Lau (’12), Eren Kiris (’13), Liang and Sanborn helped the Viking’s decisive win with a time of 3:17.90.

“We are planning to win at leagues,” Lau said.  “We have strong relays, but we don’t want any DQs like we had last year.”
