SAN FRANCISCO: Young Giants fan catches the magic in his hat along Market Street during the Giants parade yesterday. More than one million fans lined the streets of San Francisco to cheer on the World Series champions on Halloween.

An estimated one million fans flocked to downtown San Francisco on Halloween to help celebrate the Giants’ World Series Championship.

The team paraded down Market Street before ending up at the Civic Center for a ceremony where many of the players, members of the front office and San Francisco mayor Ed Lee addressed the large crowd.

With the pungent odor of smoke permeating the air and the shouts of street vendors mixing with the strains of PSY’s Gangnam Style, the players rode down Market Street in convertibles as confetti rained down from above.

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and quarterback Alex Smith even got in on the action, chauffeuring Brandon Belt and Matt Cain’s cars, respectively.

Among the other highlights of the event were Sergio Romo’s t-shirt, which read “I just look illegal,” Jon Miller and Dave Fleming’s performance of the Gangnam Style dance, and Pablo Sandoval and Marco Scutaro addressing the crowd in Spanish.

In his speech, Sandoval told the fans to enjoy the celebration, but that there would be more to come in future years. Giants fans everywhere can only hope he keeps his word.
