Paly softball faced Homestead High School on Tuesday afternoon at home for their seventh game of the season, falling 6-2.

In the first inning, the Vikings left Homestead’s lineup swinging the bat and making contact, reeling in three runs to start off the game. The Vikings were unable to put any runs on the scoreboard in the first inning.

With a 3-0 lead, the Homestead Mustangs (7-1) kept their defense strong until the fifth inning when shortstop Hannah Bundy (‘14) hit a single into center field, bringing in two runs for her team. Despite momentum in the fifth inning,  the Lady Vikes remained scoreless in the remainder of the game.

With a couple hits, the Mustangs were able to increase their lead, ending the game with a score of 6-2.

The Lady Vikes will face Wilcox High School away on Thursday afternoon.
