Sophomores triumph over the Juniors on Day 2 of Powderpuff

The Class of 2016 defeated the Juniors 21-0 on the second day of the 2014 Powderpuff Tournament. Both teams came in strong, but the Sophomores took an early lead with a run down the side by Jacey Pederson (’16), who scored all of the team’s three touchdowns. The Juniors built an attack with the speed of Olivia Musil (’15) and Katie Foug (’15) under the leadership of quarterbacks Gillian Chryst (’15) and Tatiana Loops (’15). Yet, despite the quickness of their attack, the Juniors were unable to score through the Sophomores’ tough defense. The Juniors attacked using passing to gain more yardage as time ran out, leading several complete passes but also picks made on the defensive side by Meredith Kinnaman (’16) and Courtney Lovely (’16). The Sophomores will go on to face the Freshmen in the final tomorrow at lunch on the lacrosse field, in an underclassman showdown.
