The boys’ varsity water polo team fell to Mountain View High School in a close game, 10-8 this Tuesday at Mountain View.

The two teams were neck and neck for all four quarters, with the Spartan’s continuously holding a narrow lead against Paly.

In the 4th quarter, the Vikings were down 8-9, hoping to tie up the game in the last few minutes. However, the Spartans gained possession and scored a goal in the final minutes, after a controversial call by the referee that may have caused Paly the game.

Leading scorer Bret Pinsker (’13) scored a total of five goals.

The team will next take on Monta Vista High School at Paly, this Thursday September 20, at 3:30 p.m..
