Co-captain and No. 1 single Aashli Budhiraja (’14) puller her weight today against Saratoga, winning all three of her matches. Now ranked 23rd in Northern California, she will be Paly’s only player when she enters the CCS Individual playoffs on Nov. 19.

The Paly varsity girls’ tennis team ended its first Central Coast Championship (CCS) tournament run in three years after losing to Saratoga 11-7 in the second round of competition.

After missing the match against Stephenson High School (Paly won, 16-2) yesterday due to illness, Felicia Wang (’13) joined play but won just one of her three No. 2 singles matches. No. 1 singles player Aashli Budhiraja (’14) won all three of her day’s matches.

No. 1 doubles Sammy Solomon (’13) and Hollie Kool (’14) won two of their three matches, No. 2 doubles Madeline Lee (’14) and Julianne Le (’14) won one of their three matches, and No. 3 doubles Katy Abbott (’13) and Kelsey Wang (’16) lost all three of their close matches.

No individual players besides Budhiraja will play in the rest of the CCS tournament. She will begin in the playoffs on Nov. 19.
