Brief: Paly falls to Los Altos in three sets

The Vikings’ varsity volleyball team played Los Altos on Thursday night for its second league game losing in just 3 sets.

The first set started off slow for the Vikes, as Los Altos climbed to a 18-1 lead. Paly was a very shaky in the first set and fell to Los altos 25-7.

Los Altos gained a 2-0 lead during the second set. The second set consisted of a back and forth game with lots of sets, blocks and spikes. The Vikes and the Eagles battled back-and-forth until the Eagles were up 20-13. After a Vikings’ timeout, Paly found themselves down 24-22. After a long play, Los Altos got the point and went into the third set 2-0.

Starting off strong third set, the two teams played up to a 15-15 tie. The Vikings scored the next point, leading by one. After a series of plays, paly found themselves down by two with a score of 23-21. With the third set coming to an end, Los Altos won the last two points to finalize their victory, 25-21.

The Vikings will face Monta Vista next on Thursday, October 2.
