The girl’s varsity water polo team faced off against Homestead in the second round of the SCVAL league championship series.

They beat Homestead in a blowout win 17-3 at Los Gatos pool, the host of the girls SCVAL championships.

The girls played a strong game, making sure they didn’t play down to Homesteads level.

They created many opportunities throughout the game which they frequently capitalized on, continuously extending their lead.

The girls felt they played very sound defense only letting in three goals past goalie Mary Henderson (‘24). They played well together, starting with Henderson in goal with many great blocks and passes.

“It was a great confidence booster for us and an important win for us in our road to CCS qualification,” Junior Sami Lee said.

The girls will play in the 5th place game of the SCVAL league championship tournament against Mountain View on Saturday.
