Paly’s Boys’ Baseball team played a close game against Mountain View, but ultimately took a loss with a final score of 5-4.

“Overall it was a letdown because we know that we are better than that,” Isaiah Walker (‘25) said.

Despite the disappointment of how the first official game of the season went, the team has been doing pretty well overall so far in the season.

“We’re a pretty young team, but we’re looking great so far,” Dexter Cleveringa (’25) said.

This season, the varsity team is home to five underclassmen, and only has three seniors leading the team.

With promising performance in the past couple of games, this loss was a hard one to take– especially since they were so close.

“We started the season with a couple of big wins,” Cleveringa said. “I’m excited to see what we can do in the next couple of months.”

Having only made a small dent into their season so far, the boys still have a lot of games to play in and continue improving. Especially after this disappointment, they know they can do better.

“We get to bounce back on Friday and play them again,” Walker said.
