The Paly boys volleyball team lost in a close game against Los Altos, 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Los Altos started off strong in the first set, winning 25-16.

“I definitely thought we cold have played better, but I’m proud of our mindset in the game,” sophomore Julian Hong said.

Paly caught up, winning the second set with a close score of 25-23. However, the team lost in the third set, leaving it up to the fourth set to declare the win.

In the fourth set, Paly suffered a close loss, losing 25-22.

“Los Altos is a very good team, top of our league, and we hung in with them right until the end,” Hong said.

With such a close game, the team felt as though they played well, but what caused the loss was due to their mental game. Although they felt disappointed in the results of the game, they are still looking forward to improving and learning from their mistakes.

“Our technical game was solid, but I think where we lost was our mental game,” sophomore Arun Tamura said.

“We just need to get better at closing close games,” Hong said.

The Vikings’ next game will be this Wednesday against Los Gatos at home.
