Paly girls' tennis playing in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic Tournament Tuesday afternoon.
The Paly Girls’ tennis team started the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League tennis tournament with a mixed performance Tuesday evening at Los Altos High School.
Number two singles player Felicia Wang (’14) played a highly contested match but ended up falling short of the win. Wang lost the first set (6-4), won the second set (3-6), before eventually losing her final set (6-1).
Number one singles player Aashali Budhiraja (’14) had a bye during the first round of play and came in strong during the second round to beat her opponent in straight sets, (6-0), (6-0).
The doubles team of Elena Chavez (’14) and Halle Biorn (’16) won their first round match, beating their opponents (6-2) and (7-5), while the other doubles team of Julianne Le (’14) and Madeline Lee (’15) won their first round match, (6-1) and (6-2), but lost their second round match, (6-2) and (6-1).
The SCVAL tournament will resume tomorrow at Monta Vista High School.
