Paly flag football narrowly beat Monta Vista 13-7 at home on 9/24. The Vikings started off slow on both ends to start the game. However, they got hot both offensively and defensively after settling into the game. “The defense struggled a bit at the beginning causing Monta Vista to score early,” senior Kailia Leming said. “Once they got that touchdown in the first quarter, the defense didn’t let them score after that, they adjusted really well.”
Even with the adjustments the Vikings made defensively, Monta Vista still made it tough. “They were definitely putting up a good fight,” freshman Mia Wong said. “Their defense was solid but we found ways to put points up on the board. It was a low scoring game but in the end we pulled through.”
The Vikings look for another win in their rematch with Monta Vista on 10/13.
