The Paly boys soccer team lost a fairly evenly matched game against the Mountain View Spartans at home on Friday. The Spartans, who currently lead the league, won 2-0, leaving Paly with a hard-fought loss.

Both teams created many chances but didn’t let up for the first quarter. The Spartans had an early chance that landed in goalie Isaac Kirby’s (‘23) hands. The Vikings responded right back with a chance around the 13th minute but did not convert.

Mountain View scored their first goal off of a header putting them in the lead 1-0.

Paly went into the half down one goal and was looking for a break in their defense. That break didn’t come as Paly went scoreless for the second half despite having countless chances.

Mountain View secured the game with a goal in the last five minutes of regular time off of a defensive error on Palys end.

The Vikings look to bounce back in their next matchup against the Bruins at Santa Clara High School.
