After their 2-2 draw away from home to rivals Los Gatos last Wednesday, the Paly boys soccer team was able to tough out a win against Homestead at home on Friday night, beating the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Senior Noah Adesnik was able to start off the scoring early with his strike that ended up in the top corner of Homestead’s goal.

The lead was doubled early on with another goal in quick succession by senior captain Jaron Majors. This set up the team for a comfortable win until a mistake in the Paly defense saw their impressive lead cut in half just minutes later.

Regardless of the unfortunate mistake that led to Homestead’s goal, the Vikings were able to come away with a win, and some credit has to be given to the fans that showed up and were heard all game long.

“The fans were really in full force tonight,” Adesnik said. “They really pushed us to get this win.”

The effects of the Paly crowd on the Homestead players were obvious and undoubtedly helped the Vikings secure these important three points in league play.

With just a few league games left on the schedule, the Vikings are making their final push for a spot in CCS, with a packed schedule for the next few weeks the decider of the team’s future.
