The Paly girls basketball team defeated Los Altos 53-36 Thursday at home.

Paly got off to a big time start, putting their foot on the gas pedal early.

“We started off a little slow last game [against Los Altos], and we wanted to start off on a good note this game,” guard Natalie Neumann (‘25) said.

The entire team had trust in each other from the start, making it much easier to play a more connected and successful style of basketball.

“I think as a team today we were really good about trusting each other and moving the ball,” guard Vienn Sheng (‘25) said. “Especially me and [Neumann] shooting all of our threes, we couldn’t have done any of it without our teammates passing the ball,” Sheng said.

Even riding high on a four game win streak, the team always seeks improvement.

“I think that we can get better at a lot of things like our defense, and forcing [the ball] one way,” Sheng said.

This win moves Paly to 7-1 in league games, keeping them just one game behind first place, and will have the opportunity to tie for first place with Los Gatos on Wednesday.

“It’s definitely good momentum coming up with lots of tough games next week,” Neumann said.
