The Paly girls basketball team suffered a hard-fought loss to Los Gatos with a final score of 52-43 on Wednesday night at Palo Alto High School.

The game started out rough, as Paly found themselves with a double-digit deficit going into halftime.

Most of their early struggles came on the defensive side of the ball, where the team struggled to get stops.

“We need to clean up our defense and talk a lot more,” senior guard Kaella Peters said.

Despite facing a large deficit, Paly continued to battle, slowly creeping back into the game. Unfortunately, this push was insufficient, as Paly ultimately suffered the loss. However, the team seemed proud of the way they continued to compete.

“We stayed positive even when things weren’t going our way and we kept fighting and playing as hard as we could,” Peters said.

Even with the loss, the team still keeps a positive mindset, continuing to get better every day.

“We just want to keep staying positive and confident out on the court and to keep going hard and working during practice,” Peters said.

Paly falls to 8-2 in league play and faces Homestead in their league finale next Thursday in an away game.
