Paly Boys Soccer Loses to Menlo 2-1

Paly boys suffered a tough loss to Menlo High School Friday, December 3rd.

Senior Captain Jaron Major scored an early goal for Paly.

“Jarons goal in the second minute was a great start for the team.” Junior Isaac Kirby said, “We were super excited and you could see the change of energy and intensity.”

Unfortunately, these high spirits didn’t last too long, because Menlo scored another goal shortly thereafter, tying both teams at one-one.

Both sides put up some massive defensive efforts, blocking multiple goals. The game looked like it would end with a tie, however, with five minutes left on the clock, Menlo scored.

Paly didn’t have a chance to score again, and unfortunately lost 2-1.

This was a tough blow for the Vikings, but the players are still determined to keep up the positive attitude they held after winning against cupertino.

“This game was definitely a reminder that we have a lot to work and improve on,” Kirby said, “But the effort from everyone was amazing and the wins will come.”
