The Paly football team beat Stevenson 38-18 at Palo Alto High School on Friday night in the Division V CCS quarterfinals.
The offense capitalized on many explosive plays, allowing Paly to build a massive lead early.
A long touchdown run by running back Jack Newman (โ23) in the second quarter extended the lead to 24-0.
โWe knew a lot was on the line so we came out with everything we had,โ safety Rocky Leitch (โ23) said.
Quarterback Declan Packer (โ24) was terrific, making throws in the pocket, as well as using his legs to extend drives.
Stevenson cut the lead to 12 early in the third, but wide receiver Kai Bussey (โ23) scored on a long touchdown, destroying any hope Stevenson had left.
Paly will carry their positive momentum into the semifinals of Division V CCS, where they will take on Seaside High School next Friday at home.
โ[Weโre] very excited about the win and plan to carry the momentum we have for our next opponents,โ Leitch said. โWe will lock in and get to work this week in order to do so.โ
