With the treacherous down pour this Friday, November 30 sports in the bay area will face new challenges. This is the first big rain we have had this year and it could not have come at a worse time with significant events such as the Pac-12 championship game scheduled for today.
Stanford and UCLA will face off tonight in a rematch of last weeks one sided match up that resulted in a 35-17 victory for Stanford. Stanford’s dominant display last week paired with today’s weather will hurt attendance at this evenings game. Since this game already does not carry the allure of an Alabama – Georgia match up, it would have been hard to fill Stanford’s stadium despite the weather.
The resurgence of the UCLA football program has been made possible through a well constructed passing attack. However, with the wet and windy conditions today, passing the ball will prove to be a tall task. Stanford’s well balanced attack should be able to fall back on a proficient power run game to move the ball in the run-friendly conditions. Stanford’s balanced offense will prove too much for the UCLA defense once again and Stanford will walk away from the game with a ticket to Rose Bowl.
Tickets are still on sale for the game for anyone who wishes to go support the Cardinal in their quest for a Rose Bowl birth.
