The boys varsity water polo team won their second home game in a row, defeating Mountain View 15-6. The team worked together well throughout the game, with eight different players scoring goals.

The Vikings scored 6 of their 15 goals in the first six minutes, setting the pace for the quarters to come. Senior Martin Angelov led the way, pushing his teammates and opponents by speeding down the pool for fast breaks, despite being the team’s set.

“It felt good to get down the pool and score. I didn’t want to back down despite being up in score,” Angelov said.

Left wing junior, Will Rowell, also made a significant difference in the game play. Scoring a nice back hand and keeping spirits high throughout the game, Rowell truly stepped up for this game.

“I just try to do what’s best for the team. I had a good opportunity and I took it,” Rowell said.

The team chemistry the Vikings brought against Mountain View shows great promise for this upcoming season. Hoping they can continue to practice and work hard, the boys are excited to see what’s in store.
