The boys varsity water polo team won at home on senior night on Tuesday, defeating Los Gatos 11-9.

Before the game started, the Vikings celebrated all the seniors on the team: Jack Haney, Martin Angelov, Luke Anderson, David Gormley, Damon Schultz, Harry Myers, and Eitan Green. This would be their final league game.

Junior star Julien Chow scored the first four goals for the Vikings. Gatos was coming on strong as well, putting up five goals during that period. With 30 seconds left in the first half, Gormley put up a shot from seven yards out after a penalty on him, tying the game at five at the half.

The Vikings went on a hot streak to start the second half, and led against Gatos for the rest of the game. Schultz and Ivan Ijzerman(23’) each put up two goals.

“It was a great way to finish the season,” Ijzerman said. “It was so much fun to have everyone there, shoutout to the fans.”

With this win, the Vikings finish their regular season tied in third with Gatos with a record of 7-5. Gunn finished first and Harker finished second. They also clinched ccs and will be competing in league championships.

“I think we have the potential to win either leagues or ccs, or both, but it requires three games where we are reaching our potential and staying mentally resilient,” Gormley said.
