PALY Boy’s Waterpolo team defeated Harker 14-12, taking home the banner as they were crowned league champions. Before today, the Vikes were zero and three against Harker, all being close matches.

“It feels great to beat them, especially in a league championship game like this,” Junior Julien Chow said.

Led by Seniors Jack Haney and David Gormley, respectively scoring four and three goals each, the Vikes started off on top and kept it going throughout the rest of the game, with their defense being unstoppable. Junior Ivan Ijzerman also helped, adding 3 goals to win the game.

With the brand new head coach Bob Greene coming in this season, he was proud to take it all.

“Winning the championship was pretty amazing. You know, I really thought that we could be any team in our league. We’ve been playing really, really well the last two weeks. That’s a big victory. So it was fantastic, it’s great to have a championship,” Greene said.

The team looks to continue its momentum heading into the CCS playoffs next week.
