Paly girls golf defeats Monta Vista 208-239

Alexa Pineda (’24) after her drive

Paly girls golf had a strong showing against Monta Vista today, winning with a score of 208-239. Junior Alexa Pineda shot a match-high of 34, shooting one under par. However, she still says there is room to improve before their next match.

“I should improve on my putting as it’s not at its best and my driver could be a bit better,” Pineda said.

The other team members were not far behind Pineda as they also shot relatively well. Junior Angelina Chen was right behind her with a 42, with Allyson Lee (‘23) and Annika Nair (‘25) both shooting a 43. Senior Meigan Lee followed with a 46 while sophomore Lisa Chen shot a 57. The new circumstances while even being on home ground turf may have messed with their scores a little as they possibly could have shot better.

“We played the back nine today which is not what we usually practice so it kinda caught us off guard,” Allyson Lee said. “There was wind but that’s kind of expected, so I think it was more so we weren’t familiar with the course.”

The girls have a quick turnaround, playing another match tomorrow against Los Altos at their home course Bay View.
