Paly football was defeated by Christopher on Friday night with a score of 31-21 despite a late push by the offense in the 4th quarter.
The team came out of the gate in the first quarter by giving up a touchdown, with no more scoring happening in the rest of the half.
“I think the offensive execution was poor, but the defense was very strong in the second quarter,” wide receiver Jake Wang (‘26) said.
The Vikings started their scoring with a short pass from quarterback Justin Fung (’27) to running back Joseph Kessler (’25) in the third quarter, but they also gave up a few touchdowns themselves.
“I think we had a rough 3rd quarter and the intensity wasn’t there,” Wang said.
The Vikings made a late push in the fourth quarter by scoring two unanswered touchdowns, but were unable to push past Christopher.
“We started to connect on offense which gave us way more confidence compared to the 3rd quarter and the first half,” wide receiver Adam Maldonado (’27) said.
The Vikings’ next game will be an away game against Fremont, where they will try to bounce back from their tough loss.
“We can’t wait until the fourth quarter to show who we are,” Maldonado said. “We have to come out the gate on the very first play to give us momentum.”
