The St. Ignatius Cats came over to our turf to face the Paly field hockey team on October 22nd. Unfortunately, Paly fell to them 2-0.
In the first matchup against the Cats, the Vikings lost 8-0, meaning they improved from that tough loss and had the ability to prevent a greater amount of shots this time.
“Our goal after our last game against St. Ignatius was to hold their team off to one goal a quarter,” Sophomore Hannah Niebuhr said. “Our team did a great job keeping energy up, and our goalie made some amazing saves.”
The Paly team used great courage and perseverance to view their loss from last time as something to learn from, and this second matchup as a second chance to be the better team.
“Although the score board reflected a loss, our team chose to view it as a win because SI is a really strong team and we successfully completed our goal,” Niebuhr said.
