To recap this fall, Girls Volleyball had some amazing games and is well set up for next season. They started off the season with a win at Woodside and concluded with 35-5 wins in total. Within their league they had a record of 11 wins making them first. Even though they came out on top, this came with its challenges.
“We went into the game with really high confidence because we had been undefeated in league, but the Los Gatos team really played well and I think we were a bit shocked,” Junior Emily Mulkey said.
Some of the losses hit harder because of the surprise factor, and a lot of the wins came pretty close.
“During the first set we played very well and where able to efficiently stop there strongest hitter #13, but as the game went on we started to get a little to lose and were careless, allowing them a very tight second set.” Maura Hambly (’27) said. “After that set we kind of woke up and took the next two to win the game.”
The teamwork this season was impeccable, and the upperclassmen stood out as leaders to some of the newer players.
“[The Seniors] helped me feel welcome and taught me all the things about being on Varsity and just made me feel really at home,” Lina Ruan (‘27) said.
Even though their season came to a close with a loss at CCS, this season is proof of many more wins in the future with the talented lineup.
