The boys water polo team is coming off a solid 8-3 record placing 5th in league. The boys finished the season off strong, defeating Los Altos 9-8, and placing second in CCS.
“We’re all really proud of how the season went,” Senior Will Rowell said in a Viking article regarding last season.
The team will start off their season by facing Hillsdale on September 5th and Fremont High School on September 10th. Junior Jack Spitzer is optimistic about the upcoming team’s chances for success.
“The team is younger this year, but I am confident in our skills compared to the rest of the league,” Spitzer said. “We have been practicing hard and making a lot of progress.”
Despite their strong showing, the team knows they have to work hard, even in preseason, to achieve their goals.
“It’s all about getting ready for the season and getting mentally prepared,” Spitzer said. “There is a lot of conditioning involved.”
The team has lost some of their key seniors, but Junior Dylan Liao believes they still have enough firepower to give a strong performance.
“We got a lot of developed and excited players, who are ready to go,” Liao said. “I think we’ll work well together as a team and get the job done.”
