The Paly football team beat Seaside 34-6 at Palo Alto High School on Friday night in the Division V CCS semifinals.

Paly executed at a high level both offensively and defensively right from the start, allowing Paly to capture a 13-0 advantage going into halftime.

Linebacker Luke Young (โ€˜23) flew all over the field with six tackles in the first half, helping the defense pitch a shutout going into the locker room.

โ€œWe got our momentum going and capitalized on their mistakes,โ€ quarterback Declan Packer (โ€˜24) said.

A long run by running back Jack Newman (โ€˜23), and an elusive touchdown catch by wide receiver Jason Auzenne (โ€˜24), the lead mounted to 20 points.

The Vikings werenโ€™t done yet. Later on, two way captain Vainga Mahe (โ€˜23), capitalized on an electric โ€œscoop and score,โ€ recovering a fumble and running it back for a touchdown.

After a rough start to the season, Paly has found their groove. Theyโ€™ve won four games in a row, including two straight playoff games, and will face Monterey High School in the Division V CCS finals.

โ€œWe are going to prepare for [Monterey], and we will dominate when we play them,โ€ Packer said.
