Paly Football was bested by Wilcox on Friday night with a score of 42-13, putting an end to their three game winning streak.
Paly started the game off with a touchdown pass by quarterback Justin Fung (’27), but a missed extra point and two Wilcox touchdowns had the Vikings going into the locker room at halftime losing 14-6.
“I think we started off the game very slow, as that’s been a recurring struggle we have had to deal with,” Fung said. “We started with low energy and we all weren’t completely ready to play.”
The Vikings were unable to bounce back from their underwhelming first half, giving up four touchdowns and only scoring one themselves in the second half.
“Our offense wasn’t executing in the first half, but our defense was, but in the second half, our offense was executing better and our defense wasn’t,” Fung said.
Paly was not able to make a comeback in the late stages of the game, sending their league record to an even 1-1, and their overall record to 5-2.
The Vikings next game will be on October 25th at Menlo-Atherton, and their next home game will be against Los Gatos on November 8th.
“Menlo-Atherton’s offense presents different challenges than Wilcox, so we will have to work on adjusting to them,” wide receiver and defensive back Jake Wang (’26) said.
