Paly girls volleyball defeated Cupertino 4-1

The Vikings dominated in the game against Cupertino this evening winning with a final score of 4-1. Although this was a pretty well-matched game, the team came out with intensity and a hunger to win.

“We definitely have a lot to improve upon,” freshman Mina lee Wong (6) said. “I think it’s really important that we keep each other motivated especially when we make mistakes.”

The first set was a complete domination by the Vikings with excellent tips by Evie Kramer (9) and serves by Risha Suvarna (3) however the second set was won over by Cupertino.

“I thought the game was a little tough,” Sophie Mies said. “It was really hard but we tried our best and won.”

The third and fourth sets were intense as both teams were eager for the win but Paly’s excellent hits and saves by Jess Watanabe (5) racked up the points.

“We had a negative mindset coming into the game and I think next time we could put more work in but overall we did good,” Jess Watanabe (5) said.

This game was evenly matched with many long and well-played rallies however were won by determination.
