The Palo Alto High School boys’ lacrosse team had another easy league win defeating Saratoga High School 10-3 this Wednesday night at Paly.
The team (10-3, 5-2) previously defeated the Falcons 9-7. This time around, the Vikings’ strong defense outplayed Saratoga’s attempts at goal. Paly took the lead early on, putting away eight goals in the first half and shutting out Falcon attack.
“We had good movement on offense, we got the ball to key players and were able to score a lot of goals,” attack Zach Spain (’11) said .
Spain had three goals on the night for the Vikings.
Paly hit a slump in the second half however, and Saratoga outscored the Vikings three to two.
“We didn’t get the ground balls an didn’t maintain possession on offense,” Spain said.
The Vikings are currently second in league, tied  5-2 with Menlo-Atherton High School, both teams have played two less games than top rank Mountain View High School (7-2).
The Vikings will face off against the Menlo-Atherton Bears this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Paly for the second place ranking in the De Anza Division.
“We need to come out firing and execute what we have been doing in practice,” Spain said. “If we do that, we should be successful.”
