Boys’ lacrosse takes down Los Altos 17-4

The Paly boys’ lacrosse team took down Los Altos 17-4 on Thursday night.

The first quarter started out slow with both teams feeling each other out. The Vikings got two goals, one from Patrick Macintosh (‘19) and the second from Owen Dulik (‘16). Los Altos grabbed a goal for themselves, making the score 2-1 in favor of Paly after a quarter.

Paly came out flying in the second quarter, scoring two quick goals. Los Altos got another one back, but the Vikings really caught fire after that, scoring seven unanswered goals.

Los Altos scored themselves with less than a minute left in the half, but the Vikings still held a commanding 11-3 lead going into halftime.

“We really had the midfield chip in tonight to play well. It was really just a great team effort to help get us the win,” Macintosh said.

The third quarter was more of the same. Paly scored four unanswered goals before Los Altos grabbed one at the end of the quarter.

With a 15-4 lead going into the final quarter, the Vikings took the foot off the gas pedal, but still maintained control of the game. Paly scored two additional goals in the fourth, finishing the game with a dominating 17-4 victory.

Both Macintosh and Dulik scored four goals each, leading the way for the Vikings.

With a no practices or games over spring break, the team will hope to get refreshed to focus on the rest of the season.

“We’re really looking forward to the rest of the season. We’ve got a lot of home games coming up so we really hope to feed off the crowd. We’ve got to come out strong and continue to push through the rest of the season,” Hayden Libbey (‘17) said.

The team is off now until Thursday, April 14 when they travel to Serra.
