Girls’ lacrosse dominates Los Altos 13-0
April 30, 2016
The Palo Alto High School girls’ lacrosse team continued their dominance in league on Friday night at home. The Vikings won 13-0, starting off the scoring in the first minutes of the game.
The Vikings defense didn’t have much to worry about, with the ball crossing their own defensive half less than five times in the first half. The Vikings ended the first half up 9-0.
Coach Jamie Nesbitt commented on the team’s’ performance, and what she thought the team did well to help them win.
“I think that they were mentally prepared and really focused and there weren’t really lapses,” Coach Nesbitt said, “I think in games like this it’s easy to just relax for a moment but they kept the intensity up.”
The team kept up their scoring in the second half, scoring 4 more goals. The Vikings controlled the ball for the majority of the game, ending the game 13-0.
Coach Nesbitt also commented on what the team has been doing that helped make them prepared for this game.
“We’ve been working on our spacing on the field, and I think there were a lot of great passing sequences from the defensive end to the offence,” Coach Nesbitt said, “we’ve been working on defensive positioning and being patient, and I think this game was another good use of that both for offence, when we were trying to get the ball back, and defense when they had it down on our end”
Girls’ lacrosse will look to win their next game at Saratoga on Wednesday, May 4, at 7 pm.
