Paly Boys swim and dive 2024 season everything they wanted and more. Having a successful season, the team swam well and worked hard to perform at every dual meet.
In their league, they faced off against Homestead, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Saratoga, Lynbrook, and Gunn. All of these teams are the best of the best. Nevertheless, the team ended the season with 5 wins and 1 loss, winning all the games they were expected to.
“At the start of the season, our team was initially intimidated by Gunn’s speed, however, after our dual meet against them, we realized we had a chance to beat them in leagues,” said junior Jonathan Yuan.
The team beat Gunn in leagues, placing them in the coveted first place. However, swimming hard against all the other teams, they ultimately fell to Gunn in CCS.
Going into the season they were expected to lose against Gunn. So coming into the season their goal was to place right behind Gunn.
“We expected to lose to Gunn and Mitty but exceeded our expectations from the start of the season, we placed second in CCS out of the other 45 high schools beating Mitty,” said sophomore Matthew Wei.
All in all, the team has worked hard and will continue to swim their hardest for next year.
