Paly badminton lost a tough match to Cupertino 11-19 last Tuesday.
The team started off down 0-10, and climbed their way back into the match to an eventual 2 point deficit.n Unfortunately, Cupertino hung on to their lead and eventually took the match.
“I think we played alright, there were some crucial points that we lost that swung the match the other way” Nathan Lee (’26) said. “It was kind of unlucky but we fought to the end.
This marks the team’s second loss against Cupertino this season, and also shows the roster’s improvement.
“Even though we lost, this was a much better match than the first time we played them,” Venkatesh Bharadwaj (’26) said. “This time it was a lot closer and we are getting better.”
The badminton team is now 1-6 on the season. They will take the road against Milpitas on Thursday.
“I’m excited for the next game,” Bharadwaj said. “We can definitely win.”
