Paly boys tennis defeats Los Gatos in doubleheader

Paly boys tennis played a doubleheader against Los Gatos on Tuesday afternoon, defeating them twice with both games being 4-3.

“Playing two games against the same team is something we usually don’t do, but I’m glad to have won both games,” Ayush Singh (’23) said.

Within the first game, Paly was cruising through their matches as they jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but as other games began to finish, Paly quickly became dead even as Los Gatos tied it up. Paly eventually closed it out towards the end, winning two more matches to win the first game.

The second game was no different, as Los Gatos kept it really close in the second match as well, putting pressure on the last match of the game as the game score was 3-3. It was all down to senior captain Josh Kaplan to win his singles games, which he eventually did, bringing Paly to 2-0 on the day.

“The entire team was just watching Josh and hoping that he would close it out,” Singh said. “I’m glad he did as it was a great sight to see.”
