The Paly boy’s volleyball team struggled in a loss to Fremont, 3-2 on Friday night.
The Viking’s record stands at 5-4 and 0-2 in league play.
Fremont started the night off strong, winning the first set 25-17.
“We weren’t clicking as well as a team, and communication wasn’t too good,” Calvin Wong (‘23) said.
However, Paly battled back, winning the second and third sets.
“As the game went on, [communication] improved, but we definitely need to work on gelling better as a team,” Wong said.
In the fourth set, Paly fell just short of winning, losing the set 25-22.
“We played down to their level,” Arun Tamura (‘25) said.
The Vikings battled back hard, however, it wasn’t enough to pull off the victory. Fremont won the final set 15-13.
“Fremont’s a good team, but I definitely think we will beat them next time,” Julian Hong (‘25) said. “It was a really tight game and I’m happy with how we competed. It obviously sucks to lose, but we’re learning with every game.”
The Viking’s next match comes against Los Gatos on March 15.
