The Paly wrestling team was dominated by Wilcox in an away meet on January 24th, resulting in a final score of 51-21.

Erik Anderson (‘13) at 182 pounds and Jordan Gans (‘14) at 170 pounds both had pins. The rest of the points for Paly were by Gary Hohbach (‘13) at 160 pounds, Eric Oshima (‘16) at 152 pounds, and Andrew Frick (‘14) at 220 pounds, who all secured regular wins for their team.

Many lost points were attributed to a lack of team members which led to many forfeits and also the necessity to pull up JV players to compete in the varsity matches.

“The guys that needed to go out and get wins did, but the injuries, sicknesses, and amount of guys that have quit this year really took a toll on the varsity squad.” says Andrew Frick (’14). “Now we have to rely on some younger guys that are getting better but still need some more experience.”

The next match is an away match against Overfelt on Saturday, January 26th at 9am.
