The Paly wrestling team was defeated by Wilcox by a score of 44-27 on Tuesday.

There were some positives for the Vikings as Aidan Gans (‘19), Andrew Wang (‘19), Cooper Kim (‘18), Calvin Grewal (‘18), and Dara Heydarpour (‘18) all won their matches. Gans and Wang had stand out performances as they were able to pin their opponents.

Despite these individual victories, the team lost. Possibly due to a large number of injuries.

Gans said, “We have a bunch of injured people so we had to forfeit two matches.”

Looking forward the team’s main priority is to get healthy and if healthy, the team believes that better results will come.

Individually, Gans and Wang will try to build on their success in their matches and try to get more pins in the near future, while the rest of the winners will hope to extend their win streak.

Overall, the team will try to work together to get a better result in their next meet.

Despite falling short in their match with Wilcox, the Vikings will try to reverse their fortune when they face Saratoga this Thursday.
