Paly Girls Basketball fell to Monta Vista 57-24 on Friday. Playing one of the best teams in the league, they were determined to show out.
Monta Vista led the game in quarter one with a score of 27-3. And coming into the second quarter, they worked hard and brought the energy, ending the half with a score of 37-9.
After halftime, the girls worked hard on defense and kept the Matador’s score low, with the quarter three score ending at 11-9 and the quarter four ending at 9-6.
“The game was a rough one, even at the start, but we still brought our energy from the beginning,” sophomore Amalia Tormala said.
The team, wracked with past injuries, came into the game with passion and energy.
“This was the largest our team had been because of past injuries, so coming into this game, we had a newfound hope that we might be able to pull off an upset and win. Everyone gave it their all and we tried to step out of our comfort zones.”
