The Paly girls soccer team was defeated by Mountain View on February 8. Despite their efforts, the opposing team proved to be stronger than anticipated.
The match started off well, with the girls battling toe to toe for the ball. The game was intense, with both teams putting in the work on the field.
“At the start of the game we were really confident and hungry for the win, but I think we all knew that we weren’t going to pull through, ” sophomore and defensive player Reyes Aronson said.
Mountain View put up three goals in the first half, stumping Paly’s momentum in the second half.
“After the first goal, second goal, third goal, it all just kept racking up and eventually we got to 4-0 off a goalkeeper mistake, which kind of brought our whole team’s motivation down,” sophomore Areet Rao said.
It wasn’t until later in the game that Paly found their breakthrough moment, with a well-executed play leading to a spectacular goal by Aronson.
Despite the loss, the girls soccer team still isn’t giving up. They’re determined to put in the effort and bounce back with hopes of qualifying for CCS.
