Paly boys basketball starts the season off with a 60-51 victory over Pacific Grove, setting the standard for the season. Senior Gus Soedarmono talks about how this is exactly how they wanted to start the season.

“We really wanted to start the season off with a bang,” Soedarmono said.

Last year the Vikings made it to the semifinals, and with plans to win the championship, it is crucial to start off the season strong. Junior Youssef Fakhry talks about the team’s championship aspirations.

“Our goal really is to get back there [playoffs] and try to take the championship,” Fahkry said.

Despite losing in the semifinals last year and losing some key seniors, the standard stays the same as the Vikings make their journey to the championship. There is going to be some tough sledding ahead for these Vikings, but with their determination, the bar cannot be set high enough.
