The Paly varsity boys’ soccer team beat Wilcox 2-1 last Friday. Coming off a three-game win streak, the team was confident in its skills and continued their winstreak into the season.
“Going into the game, we knew that this game would be crucial in keeping out momentum,” junior James Park said.
Knowing that they needed to continue the momentum into the game, they fought to take the lead but struggled during the first half.
“The game went pretty well however we didn’t create much offense having pretty much only 1 shot the entire first half,” junior Hadrien De Martel said.
However, the team kept working in the second half and made sure to capatalize on all of their chances.
“We were lucky that with only 3 or 4 shots we were able to score two goals so we definitely need to improve on that,” De Martel said.
With this win, the team is placed as a strong contender for CCS and is sure to continue improving.
“We definitely have some things to work on as a team and the chemistry might be lacking sometimes due to a new coach and new system of play but we feel confident about league and potentially winning CCS,” Park said.
