The Paly girls wrestling team had a very successful season, ending in a state championship win for freshman Ella Cohen.
The faced a few challenges, such as a packed schedule, in which they participated in sixteen meets, playing in five dual meets and eleven tournaments.
Most of these meets went relatively well for Cohen and sophomore Hudson Press, usually the only two girls wrestling in these meets.
“The team performed well, and worked hard over the course of the season,” Press said.
Although the season was a massive success for Cohen and Press, the team is looking to have more state qualifiers next year, and further into the future.
“A lot of matches got down close, and was either in our favor or not, but either way, the matches showed what we need to work on to have more qualifiers for next season,” Press said.
Overall, the team had a phenomenal season, with a lot of things to be very proud about, but they are also staying humble and are not being complacent.
Next year, they will strive to work even harder, and make a push to be even better than they were this year.
