Paly Boys Basketball played their annual senior night game for the league title against Los Gatos High School, the 1st seeded team in their league.
After a very low-scoring first half, Paly found themselves trailing as they entered halftime. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t seem to break through Los Gatos’ defense or spark their offense.
Despite the Vikings’ strong defensive efforts, limiting Los Gatos to only 48 points, their struggles offensively in the first half ultimately proved to be their downfall. In a disappointing turn of events, Paly lost their league title and senior night game 48-34.
“We couldn’t climb back out of the hole that we were in,” junior Jeremiah Fung said.
Paly, still second in league, looks to bounce back as they play their first playoff game this Tuesday against Carlmont High School.Â
“It was obviously disappointing,” junior Shreyas Shashi said. “Everyone wants to win a league title, but now we just need to bring it even more going forward.”
