Being undefeated in the league, Lost Gatos was no easy opponent to take on. The last time these two teams played each other, Los Gatos won by a large margin.
Despite a valiant effort, the Vikings were unable to pull themselves together at home and lost to Los Gatos 54-18 last Tuesday.
“I think that we did really great as a team and we definitely did a lot better against them than we did last time,” sophomore Camryn Ogawa said.
This was the final game of the season for a team that was previously struggling with injuries. The struggles were clear for they went winless throughout the whole season. However, the team kept fighting through the season and found many positive things to look back on.
“The season went really well and all of us are becoming more of a team,” Ogawa said. “During the season, I think we started to become more friends and we started actually playing with each other and talking to each other.” We started to develop new skills and we started to try them out on the court and that got us more points.”
The team’s struggles started after many of their star players either graduated or transferred schools. The season didn’t go as planned, but the Vikings are motivated to improve next season.
